Christmas in July

It’s the most wonderful time of the year….kinda. It’s almost Christmas in July and what exactly is that? Well, if you’re not aware, Christmas in July started because the seasons in the Southern Hemisphere are in reverse to the Northern Hemisphere. That means that they have winter in the months of June, July, and August! Some countries in the Southern Hemisphere have decided to celebrate Christmas in their winter time to be able to enjoy a typical (for us in the Northern hemisphere) white Christmas. But don’t worry! They still celebrate Christmas in December too! And now us in the northern hemisphere have started getting into the festivities of Christmas in July as well! (Because how could you say no to celebrating Christmas twice?)
So what can you do to celebrate Christmas in July?
Well, we listen to Christmas music that plays on Music Choice’s Sounds of the Season channel and we watch the Hallmark Channel which plays Christmas movies around this time. You might also be able to find Christmas in July sales in certain stores or from online businesses! But if you want more than just the regular Christmas traditions, then we suggest you break out some of your summer gear as well. A Christmas themed pool party perhaps? Or fire up the grill for a Christmas in July barbecue.
Sipping on eggnog (if you can find it!) and lemonade at the same time? Yes please! With Christmas in July, it’s OK to have the best of both worlds! So take a little bit of what you love about Christmas and what you love about the summer and enjoy!
As far as we’re concerned, combining your favorite things about Summer and Christmas sounds like a match made in heaven!
